I’m not even sure my travelling in 2025 deserves a post, because, despite the number of miles travelled was definitely high, it was mostly for work-related reasons.

I didn’t visit any new country this year, but I slept in 6 different ones: Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

I’ve visited three new towns (Frankfurt, Basel and Trento), and a few old favourites (London, Paris, Rimini, and my hometown).

Some highlights:

  • in London, the delightful live-action My Neighbour Totoro (which is still on) and the interesting, but not fully satisfying, punk mise-en-scene of Sophocle’s Elektra with Brie Larson in the title role
  • the Deutsches Romantik-Museum in Frankfurt, a wonderfully interactive place where I unexpectedly bumped into one on my favourite paintings, The Nightmare by Füssli
  • walking around the historical town of Basel with a friend
  • the Castello del Buonconsiglio in Trento
  • visiting the Opéra Garnier in Paris with colleagues

Last and also least, I have tried almost all the aparthotels around La Défense area just outside Paris, and the best one is without a doubt the Staycity Aparthotel (this is not a sponsored opinion).
